Set up Nimzo with Happ on Windows

Install the Windows client, import your subscription and check which applications use the connection.

Before you start

Have your private Nimzo subscription ready. Happ is an independent client; installing it does not create Nimzo access.

Check your Windows version and processor architecture before choosing an installer. Keep a working internet connection for the subscription import.

Your subscription URL is a credential. Anyone who receives it may be able to use your access. Keep it out of screenshots, public chats, browser searches and shared clipboard history. If exposed, ask Nimzo support to replace it.

Based on official client documentation. Controls and operating-system prompts can differ between versions.

  1. Choose the official Windows installer

Follow the official Happ download hub and choose the Windows build for your processor: x64 or ARM64. Check Windows Settings → System → About if unsure about your system type.

Use the current system requirements before installing. Avoid repackaged installers and download adverts. If Windows blocks an unfamiliar file, confirm its official source before proceeding; do not turn off operating-system security to complete this guide.

  2. Import your Nimzo subscription

Open the private setup message supplied by Nimzo. If it offers an import link for Happ, open that link and confirm that Happ is the receiving app. Otherwise, copy the complete subscription URL, switch directly to Happ and use its subscription or clipboard import control.

Happ documents clipboard, QR and deep-link imports. Use only the method actually supplied by Nimzo; do not build a deep link yourself or paste the URL into a third-party link converter. After import, confirm that a server list appears. Control names and placement vary by client version.

  3. Choose the connection scope

Select an available Nimzo server. Before connecting, inspect the client’s routing and connection mode. A system proxy tells compatible applications to use a proxy; applications that ignore that setting can continue using your normal connection.

A device tunnel, if offered and enabled in your build, routes traffic differently and may require a Windows permission prompt. Neither a connected badge nor a browser-only test establishes that every application is covered. Follow the mode guidance in your installed client; menu names vary.

  4. Connect, then check the application you need

Start the connection and wait for a stable connected state. Open a fresh browser tab and compare your public IP before and after connecting. Then check the specific application you intend to use, especially when using system-proxy mode.

Run the linked IP, DNS and IPv6 checklist. Repeat it after changing routing settings or switching networks. A changed browser IP demonstrates that browser’s route at that moment; it is not proof of device-wide protection.

Finish with a check

A connected badge is only the beginning.

Compare your public IP, inspect DNS results and check IPv6 separately before relying on the setup.

Troubleshooting

Import fails or the server list stays empty

Copy the original subscription again, without surrounding text or spaces. Confirm your Nimzo access is active. If import times out, check ordinary internet access and retry from another trusted network. Do not repeatedly convert or edit the link.

Browser changes IP, another app does not

Check whether that application honors the Windows system proxy and whether routing rules deliberately bypass it. Review the available tunnel mode with support. Do not assume the browser result applies to games, command-line tools or background services.

Internet stops after disconnecting

Close Happ normally and check whether its proxy setting remains active in Windows network settings. Restore the previous setting only if you know it was set by Happ; managed workplace proxy settings may belong to your administrator. Avoid running competing VPN clients together.
