Read the result
Changed or unchanged. Not pass or fail.
A changed public IP means the endpoint observed a different address for the second request. A VPN, mobile network, proxy or normal address reassignment can cause this. A change alone does not prove that a VPN protects all traffic.
An unchanged public IP means these two requests showed the same address. Your baseline may already have used a VPN, the new connection may share the same exit, or your browser’s route may not have changed. It is not an automatic failure. Wait for your new connection to settle and retry: browsers can reuse an existing connection.
This comparison covers requests from this browser to one endpoint. Other apps, destinations and address families may take different routes. It cannot certify your whole device.
